More detailed information about the snowpack:

I went for a short jaunt around Virginia Lakes today to see how the warm temperatures are impacting the current snowpack.  This morning was not as warm as I was anticipating, due to moderate SW winds and partly cloudy skies, which at times was blocking any solar input and made for firm through late morning.  By the early afternoon hours, the clouds dissipated, and I started finding  a couple inches of wet snow on solar aspects, which made for softer travel conditions.  Overall, today was a great reminder that timing is everything, and being prepared for variable conditions is paramount in the springtime.
