More detailed information about the snowpack:

We rode into Leavitt Lake to see how the high winds were interacting with the snowpack. Leaving Bridgeport we could see blowing snow on the ridgetops of Crater Crest and Eagle Peak. While in the Leavitt lake drainage we saw blowing snow and continued wind transport throughout the day. Strong SW winds had stripped snow on SW aspects and deposited snow on Northerly aspects. Surface conditions were variable, ranging from stiff impenetrable wind board to protected unconsolidated snow in the trees along Leavitt Lake road. We saw evidence of avalanches in Big easy bowl and Leavitt Lake Cirque. Impressive amounts of snow have been transported via wind recently.
