Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

- Travelled to a east-facing bowl in the Sawmill Ridge area

-Snow surface on ESE facing side of bowl had softened well by 1:00 PM at 9600'; surface texture was bumpy not smooth, but supportable. Boot pen up to half boot, more punchy where shallow. More east to northeast facing open areas above 9,000' were variable (firm windboard, breakable, patches of soft faceting snow)

-Northerly facing trees held mostly soft surface-faceted snow mixed with some light crusts. Surface hoar was present in scattered open areas

-Observed evidence of old avalanche debris and broken trees pushed down to around 8,000' in a creek bed
