More detailed information about the snowpack:

Today we snowmobiled up the 108, over to Finley Meadows, into Wolf Creek, and to the entrance of Silver Creek. The weather was nicer than expected with sunny skies and less wind than expected, at least near and below tree line. The winds did increase in the afternoon and snow was visible blowing off of high ridgelines.

We observed some small new wind deposits from yesterdays strong winds, but in the mostly below tree line terrain we traveled in they were small and unreactive.  Above tree line they might have been more substantial.

Solar warming only slightly softened snow surfaces today and many places remained crusty and punchy. Snowmobiles were having trouble staying cool. You probably could have found some corn in the right spot, but wet avalanches would have been unlikely. There is still a small amount of powdery dry snow in well protected north facing areas near and below tree line but most surfaces are variable, hard, and slick.
