Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Today we toured into the Bridgeport Winter Recreation Area to see how the snowpack was responding to the forecasted warming temperatures and light wind.

Stepping off the sleds into soft snow with an air temp of 40 F was a good sign of softening snow conditions.

Travel-wise we had good ski penetration and grip on the ascent and did not use our ski crampons. We were careful to plan our up-track on southerly aspects as firm snow persisted throughout the BWRA.

Between 9-10 K snow surfaced had softened however surface texture remained bumpy and difficult to navigate at times on the descent.
