Another foot of new snow has fallen around the Bridgeport Winter Recreation Area since Wednesday evening. Initially the storm came in warm & wet with mixtures of rain, graupel, & rimed snow particles. This new snow fell on last Saturdays accumulations, which has since set-up well with the existing deep snowpack. Winds were moderate & blowing snow was witnessed.

Caltrans has begun plowing & snow-blowing on Hwy 108. Today they were diligently working around the 8000' elevation sign & conditions were complicated. Expect to be patient while riding around the plows working & Do Not Approach machinery unless the operator has made contact with you & shuts off rotating equipment.

Blowing snow & a cooling temperature trend has dominated the atmosphere today. It was snowing at peoples gate with mild temperatures & graupel was falling up to 8000'. Much colder & drier snow above 8000' with accumulations around a foot (30cm).
