More detailed information about the snowpack:

Today we snowmobiled out to Virginia Lakes and toured up around Moat Lake. It was another gorgeous day with sunny skies and only light winds at ridge top. It was slightly cooler than some of the past few days, but still warm. We had a solid freeze last night but snow surfaces on southerly slopes heated up under the sunny skies. We mostly found good supportable corn skiing. However, in the afternoon we were beginning to posthole in wet snow to nearly our boot tops when stepping off our skis on southerly slopes. We could intentionally trigger small rollerballs on moderately steep pitches. Steeper pitches likely would have produced small loose wet avalanches. We observed several small natural loose wet avalanches on southerly slopes and some natural rollerballs off of rocks on northerlies too - all from several of days ago. Steep above tree line northerlies continue to hold mostly dry snow.
