Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Dug a quick pit just south of the road next to the PCT crossing.  Relatively strong snowpack with the only potential weakness being a buried crust 85 cm below the surface, which was formed at the beginning of the Dec 15-16 storm.  With clear and cold conditions, not surprised to see some small surface hoar on the snow surface as well as a thin radiation-recrystalization crust just below the surface.  Will need to monitor and see if these weak surface layers remain intact prior to the next big storm.
