bottom line:

Sorry everyone it seems we have succumb to a full government shut-down. This means we will not be able to provide you with Avalanche Education & Safety Information at this time. The Bridgeport Winter Recreation Area will remain CLOSED until further notice. We enforce this closure to ensure the protection of numerous endangered species that inhabit the Sierra Crest. We at the Bridgeport Avalanche Center respect the diversity of life that reside in the BWRA & hope you do as well. Snowmobiling in this very special place without adequate snow coverage is unnecessary & detrimental to these critters.  We will continue to publish any nonmotorized observations that are publically submitted. Gates will remained locked. Let's hope for a quick resolution & look to this website for updates. Thank you from the Bridgeport Avalanche Center.
